Overview

This 8 days Srinagar to Ladakh trip begins with your arrival in Srinagar, where you’ll explore the Mughal Gardens and enjoy a peaceful Shikara Ride on Dal Lake. Day 2 takes you on a scenic drive to Kargil via Sonamarg, Zoji La Pass, stopping at Kargil war memorial in Drass (the second coldest inhabited place in the world). On Day 3, continue your journey to Leh, visiting the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, Magnetic Hill, Confluence of Indus and Zanskar river and Pathar sahib Gurudwara en route. Day 4, travel through the world’s second highest motorable road (Khardung La) to reach the charming Nubra Valley with a stop at Diskit Monastery. On Day 5, you will visit the beautiful border village of Turtuk. Day 6 takes you to the mesmerizing Pangong Lake from Nubra Valley. Finally, on Day 7, return to Leh via Chang La Pass, concluding your adventure with breathtaking memories of Ladakh’s beauty and spiritual serenity. Day 8, Departure.

Itinerary

Day 1: Srinagar Sightseeing.
  • Your day begins with a warm welcome from our Trip captain as we pick you up from the Srinagar Airport.
  • Settle into a comfortable vehicle and get ready to explore Mughal Garden and an evening Shikara Ride in Dal Lake.
  • Wake up to a beautiful morning in Srinagar and have your breakfast at the hotel.
  • Get ready to depart for the scenic town of Kargil.
  • As we start our journey, we will cross the beautiful meadow of Sonmarg also called as meadow of Gold.
  • Next, cross Zoji La, one of the most challenging mountain passes in India at an altitude of 3528m.
  • After that we will cross Drass village, also referred to as the Gateway to Ladakh and is the coldest inhabited place in India.
  • Reach Kargil and check-in to the hotel.
  • Have your dinner and rest for the day.
  • Overnight stay in Kargil.
  • Wake up and have your breakfast at the hotel.
  • Get ready and hit the roads, as we will ride to Leh today.
  • Today, we will pass through two high altitude passes – Namika La [3700m] and Fotu La [4108m].
  • We will also pass through the picturesque town of Lamayuru – known for its moon-like landscape.
  • We will take quick stops at Sangam Point to witness the confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers.
  • Our next stop will be at the Magnetic Hill which is known for creating an optical illusion.
  • Stop at the Pathar Sahib Gurudwara which houses a sacred boulder with the imprints of Gurunanak sahib.
  • We will then reach our hotel in Leh, complete the check-in formalities and call it a day.
  • Overnight stay in Leh.
  • Wake up to a pleasant morning in Leh and have a delicious breakfast.
  • Get ready for the exciting journey on one of the highest motorable roads.
  • Get ready for a thrilling ride to the Nubra Valley located to the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas.
  • Before leaving for Nubra, we will stop at the Shanti Stupa for a mesmerizing view of Leh and its surroundings.
  • Continue the journey to the iconic Khardung-La – one of the world’s highest motorable pass in the world at a height of 5359 meters.
  • We will then stop at the Diskit Monastery which is famous for its 106 feet of Maitreya Buddha statue.
  • Further, we will reach Nubra Valley, also known as Ldorma or the Valley of Flowers.
  • Upon reaching Nubra, head to the Hunder Sand Dunes where you can spend time in the cold desert.
  • You can also enjoy some adventure activities like a double-humped Bactrian camel ride or an ATV ride to explore the deserted land of Hunder. (on your own)
  • Wake up in your room in Nubra Valley and have your breakfast.
  • After your breakfast, get ready to explore the Turtuk Village which is a remote village with a unique identity, it is home to ethnic Muslims with distinct traditions and cultures.
  • We will then explore this beautiful village.
  • This place is well known for the cultivation of fruits like apricots and walnuts, we can try out these here.
  • we will then visit the Shyok War Memorial which is dedicated to the Indian Army who fought in the challenging weather of Ladakh.
  • As the day comes to an end, you can return back to the Nubra Valley.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay at Nubra Valley.
  • Wake up and get ready for an adventurous journey to the famous Pangong Lake.
  • On the way, we will cross the Agam and Shyok villages which are known for their scenic beauty.
  • Continue the journey until we see the majestic views of the famous Pangong Lake which is the highest saltwater lake in the world.
  • This Lake is about 4 km wide on average and at least 136 Km long and is located at an altitude of 4300 meters above sea level.
  • Spend some time around the lake, where we can admire the reflection of the surrounding mountains in the stunning blue pangong lake.
  • The famous 3-idiots set is here we can also click pictures at that point.
  • We will then head to check in at our campsite/cottage near the lake and overnight stay near Pangong Lake
  • Start the day as you wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise from your camp then enjoy a delicious breakfast near the lake, before leaving for Leh.
  • En route, we will stop at Chang-La which is one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an altitude of 5360 meters.
  • Further, we will pass the popular towns of Karu, Thikshey and Shey until we reach Leh.
  • Reach Leh by evening and check-in at the hotel.
  • You can then spend the rest of the evening exploring the Leh local market on your own.
  • Enjoy a delicious dinner, and then get some rest in your comfortable bed overnight stay in Leh.
  • Wake up to the beautiful morning with the scenic views in Leh and have your breakfast at the hotel and pack your bags.
  • The thrilling Ladakh Trip concludes as you head to the Leh airport for your onward journey.
